Recovery from injury
Injury Assessment:
A thorough Injury assessment is important to help the process of treatment using symptoms and patient feedback to help to direct treatment and hopefully prevent recurrence of the injury. A thorough and accurate assessment helps to eliminate other possibilities and gives confidence to the patient.
Sports Massage:
Sports and Therapeutic Massage help to enhance muscle performance, aid recovery and importantly; prevent injuries. Trigger Point Massage can release knots within muscles, while Myofascial Release is used to alleviate pain by releasing connective tissue and reducing tightness in muscles.
Spinal Mobilisations:
Spinal mobilisations are used to treat pain and reduce stiffness of the back and neck. Spinal mobilisations are an effective treatment that encourage lubrication of the spine and encourage removal waste product by stimulating the central nervous system and the synovium of the body.
Joint Mobilisations:
Joint mobilisations and manipulations are Manual Therapy techniques used to improve function of joints, reduce pain around the joint, and improve mobility of joint by working with the central nervous system and the synovium of the body.
Joint mobilisations can be used to treat symptoms associated with conditions such as Osteoarthritis, Frozen Shoulder, Back and Neck Pian/Stiffness, Pre/Post-joint surgery.
Neck Mobilisations:
Neck Mobilisations are highly skilled, therapeutic manual therapy techniques that must only ever be employed by a qualified therapist, used to treat symptoms of pain and stiffness and muscle spasms helping to restore spinal range of movement by working with the central nervous system and the synovium of the body.
Swedish and Remedial Massage:
Swedish and Remedial massage, are techniques that are used to help treat various conditions including: muscular dysfunction; tension headaches, back and neck pain, muscle soreness, cramps.
Deep Tissue and Sports Massage:
Safe and effective, non-invasive treatment options that can be used to improve the body’s circulation, stimulate lymphatic drainage to remove harmful waste products that remain with areas of prolonged tension, reduce swelling and reinvigorate the nervous system and improve muscle tone.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage:
MLD is a specialized, gentle massage technique used to stimulate the lymphatic system, helping to reduce lymphoedema, fluid retention and assist with post-surgical recovery by increasing lymphatic flow.
Injury Rehabilitation Programmes:
Following injury, a detailed rehabilitation programme can be an excellent aid towards return to sports in combination with consistent treatment. specifically, to aid recovery, increase strength, improve fitness and physical endurance to help prevent recurrence of injury.
Fitness Programmes:
Similarly to Rehabilitation programmes though not specific to injury. A Graduate Sports Therapist is qualified to deliver fitness instruction appropriate to numerous things such as core conditioning, strength training, endurance training, cardiovascular training, balance and proprioceptive training, and nutritional advice.
